Senate
The Jamaican Senate is the upper house of the bicameral Parliament with 21 seats. Members are appointed by the governor general on the recommendation of the prime minister and the opposition leader, 13 seats allocated to the ruling party, and 8 seats allocated to the opposition party. Members serve 5-year terms or until Parliament is dissolved.
